Our Group’s roots stretch back many years to an artisan bakery established in 1922 in Verona by founder Ruggero Bauli with an ancient recipe for pandoro. After 100 successful years, this traditional family company is now known and loved around the world. In fact, the Bauli Group’s products are sold in over 70 countries.

Over time the Group has diversified its business, expanding and enriching its production of festive desserts and treats with other baked goods, both sweet and savoury, which are available all year round. But the true ingredients in Bauli’s success are artisanal tradition and innovation, the unique blend of natural leavening, Futura, and advanced technology.

OUR HISTORY

Our Group has a century-long history that began in a small workshop in Verona city centre. Over the years we have turned our love for tradition and artisanal quality into a spirit of enterprise, by means of technological innovation and the purchase of strategic, globally-famous Italian brands. Today, all over the world we deliver flavour and the pleasure of products familiar to consumers, who love them for their quality.

1922

Ruggero Bauli opens a small artisan bakery in Verona which became known for its traditional pandoro recipe.

1927

Ruggero Bauli leaves Italy to pursue a new life in Argentina. He boards the ocean liner “Principessa Mafalda” for what would be its final transatlantic voyage and is one of the few survivors of its shipwreck. Upon arrival in South America he rebuilds his fortune, opening a pastry shop that is immediately successful.

1937

Ruggero Bauli returns to Verona and revives his business, a bakery with an attached store, which becomes the first pastry shop in the city.

1950's

The company’s activity continues to develop with the launch of industrial production.

1960

Ruggero passes down the family business to his sons, Alberto, Adriano and Carlo, who introduce an innovative spirit which accelerates the transformation of the company.

1990's

Bauli enters the market of baked goods for daily use with its new line of croissants.

1990's

Production of the first Bauli chocolate Easter eggs begins, diversifying its range of festive products.

2000's

Bauli continues to grow, developing an international market and focusing on numerous strategic acquisitions.

2004

Bauli begins a process of enormous expansion with the acquisition of FBF Casalini, specialised in production for private labels.

2006

Bauli completes the acquisition of Doria with its substantial expertise in biscuits and crackers.

2009

Brands from the Motta and Alemagna Group become part of the company’s baked goods portfolio with the acquisition of a facility near Verona.

2011

The group acquires Fête Latine in France.

2013

The acquisition of Bistefani brings a new range of products to the forefront of the group with the famous Krumiri.

2017

The group opens a facility in India in order to have better access to the countries of South East Asia.

2018

The acquisition of the majority stake of Alpipan strengthens the group’s production of gluten-free products. The group opens a commercial branch in Singapore.

2019

The group acquires the majority stake of MaxSport, a Slovakian company specialising in the production and distribution of high-quality nutrient rich products, focusing on protein products and nutritional supplements.

2021

The acquisition of the majority stake of Dacasto Gran Pasticceria.

2022

100 years of Goodness Creation, our identity is that of a group led by tradition and focused on innovation and the future.

2023

Fête Latine, which joined the Group in 2011, is now Bauli France.

2023

Max Sport, which joined the Group in 2019, is now Bauli Slovakia & Czech Republic.
