Minuto Bauli comes to central Milan: a new way to discover the goodness of Pandoro in just 60 seconds

A strategic new opening for the Verona-based brand that takes aim at the out-of-home segment with a distinctive format

Milan, 15 May 2024A sales outlet in central Milan that’s perfect to indulge in a “Minuto” of sweetness and a special break: it’s the brand new “Minuto Bauli” now open in Piazza Beltrade near Milan Cathedral (the Duomo), in a busy area in the heart of the city.

The new store is a milestone in Bauli Group’s strategic journey based on three-pronged growth in new product categories, new geographical markets and new sales channels; one example is the out-of-home segment, a market with strong growth potential that reported a value of almost €81 billion in Italy in 2023, up 5% on the previous year*.

The opening of the Milan store heralds in a major development plan that will bring the format to other cities, both in Italy and internationally, in the framework of the brand’s broader internationalisation strategy and driven by positive market feedback from the Minuto Bauli stores opened so far.

What does the distinctive Minuto Bauli format involve? The stores not only serve coffee, tea and much more, but also freshly baked Minuto Bauli, small cakes made with the same dough as the iconic Pandoro from Verona. Bauli sourdough starter, flour, milk, butter, sugar and eggs are the ingredients used by Bauli’s patisserie chefs to create handmade cakes with an irresistible aroma and a unique flavour.

Prepared over 2 days, leavened for 12 hours and baked in-store for 20 minutes, they have the perfect soft consistency ready for your favourite filling while still hot: pistachio, hazelnut, pastry cream, jam, zabaglione or dark chocolate.

In the recently opened Minuto store in Milan, the art of patisserie is combined with coffeeshop service for lunches, quick breaks and delicious teatime treats, but also to buy a gift pack you can fill with your favourite “Minuto” cakes, transforming the everyday routine into a standout moment of sweetness.

Every Bauli Minuto contains the Bauli family tradition, which has been casting a spell over generations since 1922 with a story of excellence and continuous innovation; but also with professionalism in the form of the hospitality and kindness of the people who work daily to serve the freshly baked Minuto cakes; with care over the choice of simple, genuine ingredients to preserve the unique taste of a time-honoured recipe; and with the passion that for over a century has driven the creation of an iconic product like Pandoro from Verona, now transformed into the innovative concept of a miniature cake to enjoy year-round.
